If you are a car enthusiast, eventually you will be introduced to land speed racing and the Bonneville Salt Flats. The August event is organized by the Southern California Timing Association and Bonneville Nationals Inc. Not surrounded by the hyper commercialism of TV racing that has become part of our common culture, land speed racing persists, powered by ingenuity and the spirit of endeavor. For me it contains the essence of what originally caused me to become interested in the automobile. It still retains a wonderful purity of spirit.

Of all the car events I have photographed this was a most special experience for me. I tip my hat to SCTA-BNI; they really know what “going fast” means.
